Whoa Girl

I get excited for an idea for the blog and then bog it down with a bunch of rules. So that's it. No more rules, schedules, or challenges. I'm still going to be styling multiple outfits using one piece, but no more self-imposed limits to adhere to. It's so silly, this tendency of mine to stress at being perfect when I'm the one setting the impossible standards to begin with.

If I feel like awkwardly standing against the house while passing traffic gawks, well, it would look a lot like this:

Have I told you how much I hate the phrase, "mom on the go"? Like, a LOT. But let's call a spade a spade, it's exactly what I've found my wardrobe evolving towards since we moved to Alaska. Weather is a major player here. So is the fact that we walk my oldest munchkin back and forth to school. And that I get stared at like an alien when I wear some of my more "out there" things to do so. I mean, I like standing out but it would be nice to make some more friends here.

Anyways, that's that. And here's what I'm wearing: Target sweatshirt, Free People jeans, Tory Burch clogs, ancient belt

It can be hard to make new friends! I think many adults have entirely given up on practicing their social skills. I've been frustrated on more than one occasion at baby story time. Maybe the other moms are too exhausted to play nice? Anyway, I really like this look on you, especially the jeans and clogs. Casual, but so cool!

i like to think other moms are just jealous of how cool and fashionable you are. if i saw you, i would for sure come and talk to you!! (and then i'd ask if we could share clothes.)

I agree. It was so much easier to make new friends (and infiltrate existing social groups) when I was in my 20s! I wonder what makes everyone so closed off?
